Competitive Price Snapshot Differ
verified · first-partyactively maintained$0 during beta (was $39)
Comparing prices across currencies without recording the rate produces a “change” that is entirely FX movement. The alert gets muted and a real repricing goes unnoticed.

THE SILENT FAILURE. A naive differ reports every wobble as a price change — rounding, a promotion that reverts within the hour, a shipping-inclusive price compared against a shipping-exclusive one, a changed variant. The signal drowns, the alert gets muted, and a real repricing then goes unnoticed. Worse, comparing across currencies without recording the rate used produces a change that is entirely FX movement.
Money is integer minor units throughout with the currency carried alongside. It REFUSES to compare across currencies without an explicit supplied rate rather than guessing, and records the rate used in the result.
Each change is classified: genuine move, promotion started or ended, FX-only, variant substitution, or unavailable. A boolean changed flag is the useless version. Noise thresholds are expressed in BOTH absolute and percentage terms, since either alone misfires at opposite ends of the price range.
IT DOES NOT SCRAPE ANY RETAILER. The caller supplies snapshots — which is what makes it shippable at all.
VERIFIED: 37 tests, 9/9 mutations caught. Every mutation was observed FAILING before the source was restored — a test never seen to fail is a decoration.
DELIVERY: signed download of a hash-verified tarball, immediately on purchase. Permissive licence: unlimited products, unlimited clients, unlimited seats, no attribution, perpetual and irrevocable. One restriction, do not republish the source as source.
