PrintForge turns a plain-English prompt into a print-ready, colour-mapped project for a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon, running every object through printability checks and Bambu's own slicer first. The pipeline always ends by handing you the sliced project in Bambu Studio to confirm.
What you get
- 9 built-in CAD templates (nameplate, keychain, hook, stand, clip, tray, label, knob, colour test) that work fully offline with no key
- Freeform objects with your own Anthropic key: Claude-written CadQuery, auto-retried against real printability checks (watertight, overhangs, thin walls)
- AMS colour mapping by CIELAB distance to your nearest loaded spool; Bambu Studio's CLI does the real slice
- Optional figurine / photo-to-3D mode via Replicate (your token)
- React 18 + Vite 5 front end, Python 3.12 FastAPI back end (CadQuery, trimesh, manifold3d), a macOS menu-bar wrapper
Verified by the authors
244 tests pass (one drifting classifier test is skipped with its reason in the file). The server boots and serves with zero keys; the front end builds clean.
Requirements — read this
macOS on Apple Silicon and Bambu Studio installed. Edit `profiles/config.yaml` for your own printer (the shipped values are placeholders). The photo-to-3D mode was not exercised end-to-end in the packaging pass.
Delivery
Packed as source. Reserved licence: use and modify in one shipped product; no resale of the source.
